barre workout 芭练

A combination of postures inspired by ballet and other disciplines like yoga and pilates. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements.

Targeting the deeper tissues and joints, yin yoga provides you with exercises that do not primarily work from muscle strength but work WITH gravity and body flow.

qì gōng 气功养生

Translated as "breath work" or "energy work," this consists of a few minutes of gentle breathing sometimes combined with movement. The idea is to help relax the mind and mobilize the body's energy.

The ancient Chinese practice of qigong shows promise in helping ease hypertension and depression.

Stretch & relax focuses on improving the muscle's felt elasticity and achieve comfortable muscle tone.
